A market leader in the production of batteries and power systems, HBL NPS Ltd was formerly known as Sab N- Power Systems and is headquartered in Hyderabad, India. The company was formed as a consequence of a merger that took place in 1999 between Hyderabad Batteries Ltd (HBL), which had been established in 1977, & SAB Nife Power Systems Ltd, which had been established in 1986. When the proportion of foreign investing in SAB NIFE dropped to a level that did not warrant separate legal organizations, the two firms that had the same management decided to combine their operations. At this point, the business has established itself as the preeminent provider of specialty batteries & power electronics in India, in addition to having a significant presence in a number of other nations. A J Prasad established Sab N-Power Systems in 1988 as a partnership with Nife Sweden. This partnership was a joint venture. In August of 1988, the company began producing goods for sale on a commercial scale. At the moment, the business operates through three different branches: Bhagirath Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd., HBL Nife (UK) Ltd., and HBL Nife (M) SDN BHD in Malaysia. Bhagirath Energy Systems (BES) Pvt Ltd in Nepal, which is a subsidiary of the company, has submitted an application for a voluntary winding up. The company began producing uninterrupted power systems in 1992, a move that was funded by the sale of stock to the general public in February of that same year. Production of storage batteries, including (SLA) batteries, began during the 1993–1994 fiscal year for the company. In 1998–1999, HBL Ltd. and Pinaki Technologies were merged with the company in accordance with the direction of the Honorable High Court of Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, a production plant for switch mode rectifiers was established in the Kothu Mahaboobnagar District, and the division began commercial production at that time. The company had through a name change between 1999 and 2000, and it is now known as HBL Power Systems Limited. Both a 100 percentage EOU for export Nickel Cadmium battery as well as one for exporting Lead Acid Goods were established by the company. During the 2001-2002 fiscal year, the firm distributed share to HBL Engineering Pvt Ltd in Singapore; as a result, HBL Nife Power HBL Systems Ltd. acquired full ownership of the company, transforming it into a wholly owned subsidiary. The proposal to purchase back shares of the company was rejected by SEBI, which led to the proposal's cancellation. The Scheme of amalgamation for the merger of the of amalgamation for the merger of the Firm's Subsidiary M/s Compact Power Services Private Limited with the firm was approved by the Honorable High Court of Andhra Pradesh via its Order dated 27th February 2004. This followed the approval of the scheme of amalgamation by the company in the most recent General Meeting.
